IOPE brand and routine guide
IOPE sells products across cleansing, retinoid treatment, hydration and sun protection. This guide explains those routine roles and helps you choose one starting point. “Clinical”, “expert” or a percentage on packaging does not make a cosmetic a medical treatment, and percentages from different retinoid systems should not be ranked as though they were directly equivalent.
Quick answer
Start with one non-retinoid role, such as cleansing, hydration or daily SPF.
Treat it as the single targeted retinoid step and follow its current label.
Choose products by function; owning the full brand range is unnecessary.
IOPE product lines by routine function
| Role | Example | When it fits | Main limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cleanser | Bio Conditioning Cleansing Oil In Gel | A rinse-off first step for removing oil-soluble residue | Not an anti-ageing treatment |
| Targeted retinoid | Retinol Expert 0.1% Wrinkle Corrector | Experienced users seeking one clearly identified retinol product | Tolerance varies; do not stack retinoids |
| Light moisturizer | STEM III Emulsion | People who prefer a fluid emulsion texture | May not replace a richer cream for dry-feeling skin |
| Morning SPF | UV Shield Essential Sun Protector SPF50+ PA++++ | The final morning skincare step | Must be used according to its label and reapplied as directed |
How to compare IOPE retinoid labels
Retinol Expert 0.1% identifies retinol in the product name. Other IOPE products may use proprietary systems such as Retinol RX™ and display a different percentage. Those numbers can describe different materials or complexes, so a larger number is not automatically a stronger dose of the same ingredient.
- Read the exact ingredient and usage statement for the product, not the brand as a whole.
- Introduce one retinoid product at a time and reduce frequency if comfort declines.
- Avoid placing a second retinoid, strong exfoliant or unfamiliar active into the same new routine.
- Use sunscreen during the day and follow the product’s market-specific instructions.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding: ask a qualified healthcare professional before using a topical retinoid. Persistent irritation or a concerning skin change also requires appropriate professional advice.

A conservative IOPE routine
Morning: cleanse only if needed, use the emulsion when it suits your texture preference, then apply the sunscreen according to its label. Evening: cleanse, use Retinol Expert only on planned retinoid nights, then moisturize. Do not treat every IOPE product as necessary and do not use the sunscreen as a night step.

Frequently asked questions
Is IOPE medical skincare?
No. IOPE uses research-led and medically inspired brand language, but the products discussed here are cosmetics, not medical treatment.
Should I choose the highest retinoid percentage?
No. Percentages from different systems are not always directly comparable, and tolerance matters more than choosing the largest number.
Can I use two IOPE retinoids together?
This guide does not recommend it. Choose one retinoid product and assess comfort before changing the routine.
Is an emulsion a serum?
No. An emulsion is generally a lighter moisturizing step. It does not automatically replace a targeted serum or a richer cream.
When should I expect a result?
There is no universal timetable. Experience varies with the exact product, frequency, the rest of the routine and individual skin.
